چکیده

We examine both theoretically and empirically how migration affects cultural change in home host countries. Our theoretical model integrates various compositional transmission mechanisms of migration-based for which it delivers distinctive testable predictions on the sign direction convergence. then use World Value Survey period 1981-2014 to build time-varying measures similarity a large number country pairs exploit within country-pair variation over time. evidence is inconsistent with view that immigrants are threat country’s culture. While migrants do act as vectors diffusion bring about convergence, this mostly disseminate values norms from countries (i.e., remittances).
